Our Earl Grey creates Hayfever!

Sunshine bathed the Hay Festival all day today and the gorgeous weather left festivalgoers in need of some light refreshment. Some people chose Pims or cider but we had crowds of people at the Cafédirect stall this afternoon in raptures about our NEW Earl Grey Tea on this hot day.

Our Earl Grey tea is a single origin tea grown by one grower organisation – Kelliewatte in central Sri Lanka. There are less than 150 smallholder growers at Keliewatte – a very small organisation but a truly exceptional tea. We’ve just launched our Earl Grey and English Breakfast teas and they will be available from Ocado within the next few weeks. We’d love to see these teas in all supermarkets though, so are giving festivalgoers an exclusive taste of both teas and asking for their feedback.

Carolyn from Kennilworth was more than happy to sign her stock-it card as she is always on the lookout for a natural Fairtrade Earl Grey tea.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Edna, Jan and Sandy who are also Earl Grey lovers. In fact, they loved it so much that I couldnt let them leave the stall without taking a pack with them to spread the word about how delicious this tea is.

They are going to be serving it tomorrow at the Black Mountain gliding club in Brecon, so if you usually drop by the club on a Saturday morning, you’ll be in for a treat tomorrow morning. Don’t forget to email info@cafédirect.co.uk to send us your feedback.
